Now Hiring — Founding Team

Build the brain of event intelligence.

We're looking for exceptional engineers who want to define a category. Evential is the event analytics platform for B2B conferences and trade shows — and we're building the founding team that will take it from first deployments to the industry standard.

About Evential

What you'd be building.

Founded in late 2025, Evential is an event analytics platform powered by BLE badge hardware and real-time software for B2B conference and trade show organizers. We give organizers live attendee tracking, automated sponsor ROI reports, and a qualified event lead generation marketplace — replacing manual spreadsheets with live, verified event intelligence.

Our first live deployment at the INtercollegiate Entrepreneurship Summit captured 1,485 data points per badge over 7.5 hours, identified a 39% no-show rate, and found $507 in preventable food waste. We're now scaling to paid pilot deployments. The founding engineers who join now will shape the product, culture, and company that emerges.

The mission is simple: make events effortless to run so that bringing people together is no longer difficult or expensive to measure.

Founding engineering roles.

These are founding team positions. You'll own the technical direction, work directly with the founders, and hold equity in what we build. All roles are based at Purdue University, West Lafayette.

AI / Machine Learning

Founding AI/ML Engineer

Purdue West Lafayette, IN
Full-Time · Founding Role
On-site / Hybrid
Equity
1–3%
+ $1,500 sign-on

The Role: You'll build the intelligence layer of Evential's event analytics platform — the conversational AI that lets event managers query live data in natural language, and the visualization tools that turn raw BLE sensor data into actionable sponsor ROI insights. You'll set technical standards and lead the ML department as we scale.

What You'll Do

  • Architect Intelligence: Design and deploy LLM-based systems (RAG) so event managers can query event analytics data in natural language.
  • Data Visualization: Build dashboards making real-time event intelligence — crowd flow, booth engagement, session capacity — intuitive and beautiful.
  • Full-Stack ML: Take models from a Jupyter notebook to a production-ready API on the event analytics platform.
  • Strategic Leadership: Work directly with founders to define the product roadmap for Evential's AI layer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Purdue University (West Lafayette) undergraduate.
  • Fluency in Python and core ML libraries (PyTorch, NumPy, Pandas).
  • Proven track record shipping ML projects (GitHub, research, or hackathons).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major in CS, ECE, CMPE, AI, or Data Science.
  • Experience fine-tuning LLMs or building RAG pipelines.
  • Cloud deployment experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and API integration.

Hardware / Embedded Systems

Founding Embedded Systems Engineer

Purdue West Lafayette, IN
Full-Time · Founding Role
On-site / Hybrid
Equity
1–3%
+ $1,500 sign-on

The Role: You're the architect of Evential's physical presence. You'll design, prototype, and iterate on the BLE badge hardware and gateway sensors that power our real-time event analytics platform. You'll ensure hardware is robust enough for stadium-scale deployments and efficient enough to run on minimal power.

What You'll Do

  • Full-Cycle Hardware: Design custom PCBs (Altium, KiCad, or Eagle) from concept to assembly for Evential's BLE event tracking badges and gateways.
  • Firmware Mastery: Write highly optimized C/C++ code for Nordic and STM32 microcontrollers.
  • Wireless Networking: Implement and optimize BLE, LoRa, or Wi-Fi protocols for high-density event environments.
  • Systems Integration: Ensure event data flows seamlessly from edge hardware to the cloud analytics platform.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Purdue University (West Lafayette) undergraduate.
  • Proven experience building embedded systems from scratch — not just classroom labs.
  • Proficiency in C programming and PCB design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major in ECE, EE, CMPE, or ME.
  • Experience with Nordic Semiconductor (nRF series) or STM32 ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of RF design, antenna tuning, and low-power optimization.

Software / Full-Stack

Founding Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

Purdue West Lafayette, IN
Full-Time · Founding Role
On-site / Hybrid
Equity
1–3%
+ $1,500 sign-on

The Role: You're the architect of the experience event managers depend on. You'll build the web and mobile platforms organizers use to run conferences, track sponsor ROI, and sell event leads — from our first pilot to stadium-scale. You'll define Evential's software DNA and lead the software team as we scale.

What You'll Do

  • Full-Stack Ownership: Build and maintain Evential's event analytics software using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
  • Mobile Development: Use Expo/React Native to put event intelligence into the pockets of on-site event staff.
  • Real-Time Dashboards: Work with the AI/ML team to turn live BLE sensor data into a beautiful, real-time event analytics dashboard.
  • User Experience: Own the product vision for event managers, sponsors, and attendees using the platform.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Purdue University (West Lafayette) undergraduate.
  • Proficiency in the MERN stack and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience deploying web applications to production (AWS, Heroku, Vercel, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major in CS, CMPE, or ECE.
  • Experience with Expo/React Native for cross-platform mobile apps.
  • Strong UI/UX sensibility — Figma experience is a plus.
  • Experience with WebSockets or real-time data streaming for live event analytics.
